In this Lesson

Establishing the Target Condition is how we break down a challenge into a manageable chunk. It should be a “strive” and take several experiments to achieve.

A Target Condition has:

  1. An achieve-by date

  2. A target outcome & process metric

  3. A desired operating pattern

Assignment: Your turn! Create your own Target Condition

  1. Use the end date of this class for the Target Condition date

  2. Where do you want (or need) your outcome metric to be? Process metric?

  3. What operating pattern do you need from this process to get there?

Note: Target Condition & Targets are not synonymous. A Target Condition is the way we want our process to operate - a new pattern of work. A Target is typically a business objective or KPI.
