Common Questions

  • We started offering Waste Tours over ten years ago as community service to demonstrate a system of beliefs and habits that can create wins all around the business table: Colleagues and their Families, Communities, Suppliers, Customers, and last of all, for Shareholders.

  • We want to help you answer the question, "Why should I bother learning about this?" Our method includes conversations with a variety of Kaas team members, in-depth training on the 7 wastes, and an intro to the improvement tools we use. You will experience team train, team clean, visual management tools, and Kaizen problem-solving. The day ends with 30 minutes of Q & A with Kaas leadership.

  • Guests are usually inspired to learn more about Kaizen so they can apply it in their own lives. Frequently they are surprised to learn how much waste is in their world. Many seem willing to explore removing waste as they return to work. Occasionally we have guests who leave hopeless and annoyed because they realize they can’t change their system without leadership’s support.

  • While there is no required pre-work, it can be helpful to familiarize yourself with some core principles we trust prior to the tour. You can start with the free content that we have published in the public domain in the learning tab.

Another helpful exercise is to reflect on your current work situation. What brings you joy? What gives you anxiety?

  • When we were first asked to host virtual tour experiences by our friends over at Starbucks, we declined. We doubted our ability to adapt the content to fit the virtual medium.

After several experiments with people who have visited us for in-person tours, we found a way to give the same tour feel from miles away via Zoom with little to no drop off. By splitting up the “batch size” into multiple smaller tours and going onto the shop floor with our camera, guests are able to enjoy a similar transformational experiences.
